ETITERUM RULES
nothing is true, everything is permitted
Hello! Welcome to the ruru's! You'll discover quickly we're a very laid back bunch, and we trust you people to govern yourselves like adults. These are just some basic guidelines everyone should be following. We don't like to give warnings or add any more rules (it's not because the staff are lazy, honest) so if there's some issues with members following these, we will likely talk to them personally before taking any drastic measures. Because of this it's pretty hard to get yourselves in trouble! Be respectful, remember we're a family, don't be a butt, and we'll all get along fine!
THE BASICS && ROLEPLAY
▪ Love thy neighbour, bro. Be nice to your fellow members. Don't bully, treat others the way you want to be treated, exersize patience and respect as often and as liberally as you can.
▪ The main hover images at 250w x 400h, the profile icons are 150w x 150h. To comply with the Proboards Terms of Service, these images cannot contain nudity or explicit content not within the PG-13 rating.
▪ Do try to avoid spamming (multiple successive posts). In the chatbox, in threads, the canned stuff too -- it's clutters things up pretty quick and has a tendency to annoy.
▪ Your staff try not to be your managers: we are your maintenance crew and your customer service. If something stops working, we will fix it. If you have a problem, well we'll fix that too. Have questions? We can probably find answers. Probably. We strive to be a very approachable group, so please don't hesitate to contact one of us with any comments or concerns. We can be reached easily through PM as well as other mediums listed in the Contact Thread. If staff aren't available, well our members are pretty kickass too. They're always willing and happy to help.
▪ Don't be lasagna. Ever. Sometimes the temptation is great, but we must resist. Do not question why, just accept it as your truth. Don't do it. Don't you ever do it.

▪ One Character per account please, it helps up keep everything in order. You're welcome to name your account whatever you like (though character first names are always easy to tag), though after your character as been accepted you are required to change your display name to the first and last name in CAPITAL LETTERS.
▪ There is no word count, but just try and make sure - no matter what the length - that you have given your partner(s) enough material to reply to.
▪ Proper English is the bee's knees. This is in reference to grammar, punctuation and spelling. We're alright with mistakes and we know some people may not use English as their first language, but try to write in a way that you'd be proud to show it off to ye olde english granny.
▪ Please be patient when waiting for responses, muse comes and goes, life happens and not everyone can be as active as they would like.
▪ Please do not god-mod or power-play. This means don't write uber powerful character and do not write out attacks or actions that take control of the other player's character - and if in the event you are going to, make sure you have permission.
▪ What happens in Vegas, ladies and gentlemen. Try not to hold grudges against other players over IC events. You may hate a character for his/her choices or personality, but don't allow that hatred to extend to his/her roleplayer.

CHARACTER && IC & OOC
▪ You can have as many characters as you like, but if you can't keep more than a few of them active, maybe consider culling your herd.
▪ You may post apps as a Work-In-Progress, but if it is not finished within two weeks, it will be moved out of the pending board.
▪ Do not plagiarize. Please do not take your characters (stats, history, name, personality) directly from a book or show or movie. It's perfectly fine to draw inspiration from something, but make your creation your own. Any characters we find too heavily similar to an existing character in a book or show or movie will not be approved.
▪ We have oodles of species and subspecies for you to choose from, and while we're always accepting suggestions or ideas for new species or subspecies, do not make up your own species on the spot to apply your character as. If there isn't a board for it in the species list, you cannot create one. (but if it sounds like a cool idea hit us up!)
▪ Mary sues and Gary sues are butts. Please don't make them.
▪ We are a 'real people' face claim site. You can use models, singers, artists, actors, even social media personalities as playbys, but no cartoons, anime or video game characters please!

▪ Follow common sense and all the above basic rules when in the cboxes, it makes everyone just happier, well-adjusted individuals. Be friendly and welcoming to new people and your fellow members alike.
▪ In our OOC box, please try to keep the atmosphere friendly and casual. This means not keeping us intimately up-to-date on your IRL baggage. Venting is fine and you will find plenty of love and support from your fellow members, but try not to be a perpetual raincloud and keep in mind that this site is public. Giving out too much information about yourself could be dangerous. Cause, y'know, the internet is scary.
▪ Our IC boxes are always open, there are no prerequisites to play and you are invited to test out new characters when the need strikes you. However, these characters are still expected to follow the rules and be sure to have an app up for these characters in good time.
▪ If you find your IC posts are consistently breaking the character limit, consider moving to a rapid-fire thread!
▪ Try to avoid posting unnecessary OOC comments in the IC box, or having lengthy OOC conversations in there. However, do feel free to go nuts with OOC comments in the OOC box, because that's what it's there for!
