FIANNA
shine bright like a diamond
Fianna make their home deep in the parts of Faerie that are typically inhabited by the Unseelie. They are unaligned and tend to keep to themselves among their own herds. They are not incredibly territorial, however, they do prefer their own space and to keep a pretty good distance between themselves and the other Fae. Size wise they are typically larger than unicorns, but smaller than standard horses. Fianna are incredibly long lived, little is known about them as a species as they are reclusive and rare, it is unclear how long they might live exactly.
» APPEARANCE AND BEHAVIOR.
The Fianna tend to keep to themselves, not for any specific reason, it's just how they've always preferred it. They are as welcome to venture out of Faerie as and of the fae folk are, they just tend not to. They look like deer to most people, but when not glamoured their fur comes in several colors though they tend to be more muted and accented with bioluminescent patches of fur that can glow in any number of colors. That glowing also manifests in their horns, hoofs, and eyes on certain occasions. They can control how bright that glowing is, but it is always present no matter how dim.
They tend to travel in herds that are often lead by an elder. Each herd tends to structure themselves however they see fit around that elder. Much of their history is passed down via stories told by loremasters of the race. They don't share those stories with many people which is why they are so mysterious. Even those from Faerie know very little about them.
They are incredibly wise and commune with all nature around them. They feel the earth around them, plants, minerals, water, everything.
They breed very rarely and usually will only do so when they are sure they are ready. They mature around the age of eighteen, when they are born their horns are very small and will grow slowly and twist over time.
» ABILITIES AND MAGIC.
» Spore Manipulation --/
These creatures are able to generate spores from their bodies. These spores tend to have unique properties to each Fianna. Some possess the ability to stun with their spores, others can freeze. Some can burn or put someone to sleep while others can cause brief sickness or crippling pain. These are typically just used as a defense or as a means of distraction so they can run. Due to their genetic makeup, Fianna are immune to spore attacks from others of their kind or other species altogether.
» Speed --/
These creatures are incredibly fast with speed that can rival vampires. They cannot teleport like other Fae can and therefore they rely on this speed to survive.
» Enhanced Senses --/
Human/true forms both have heightened senses.
» Healing--/
These creatures are some of the best healers, however, their healing properties come from their saliva. So, whatever healing they do is going to involve spit in some shape or form.
» Night Vision --/
They can see better in the dark than in the light but the difference is marginal.
» Stealth --/
They can be incredibly sneaky when they want to be.
» The Blood --/
Their blood can be used in certain spells and magical potions. The properties aren't widely known. Their blood is also extremely tempting to vampires. It's like a Unicorn/Faerie blood cocktail.
» Glamouring --/
This is all about tricking the mind. Glamours are a very simple kind of spell that helps keep brownies concealed. For example, faeries may make themselves hard to detect or even invisible. A powerful glamour may conceal even an entire building. It is said you may be able to see through a glamour briefly if you glance at it out of the corner of your eye.
» Pathfinding and Tracking --/
Fianna are incredibly skilled at navigating nature, cities, just about anywhere. They seem to have a sixth sense for finding their way and even known to appear to those who are lost and in need should they choose to do so. It almost comes to them like a calling when they are near someone who is lost, the closer they are to lost people the louder it gets but it is easy to ignore those calls once they choose to ignore it they are silenced.

» HUMAN FORM.
These creatures in human form tend to have something exotic about them, something almost otherwordly, that tends to draw attention to them that they do not want. They smell appetizing to vampires as it is, but to everyone else they will just be captivating. They look normal but they tend to glow when distressed. It will usually just be dim with the brightest being their eyes. It will usually be the color of their horns.
» HUNTING FIANNA.
Fianna are hunted for blood, their horns for their strong magical properties, even their fur that will glow even after death, among several other things. They are extremely elusive and masters of hiding in plain sight and tend to keep to themselves deep within Faerie.
