In the present day, supernatural creatures have revealed their existance and struggle for acceptance. Supernaturals from all over the world flock to the UK for the basic rights and freedoms all should be allowed. As a result, the British countries have become forerunners in adjusting to a world where creatures of myth live like anybody else, with much of Europe slowly attempting to follow in their footsteps.

[attr="class","basicinfoappnotbold"]Blunt - Magda doesn't like to sugar coat a lot of things, or anything for that matter. She answers questions as they are asked and doesn't like to waste time trying to beat around the bush. She also makes a lot of very blunt, potentially hurtful observations but she rarely means them as mean as they might sound. She just says what she thinks without bothering to filter it.
Ambitious - She likes to work towards things. She always wants more for herself and she often wants to be more than she is. She wouldn't call herself power-hungry. She prefers to think of herself as determined. She is determined and willing to work for what she wants so that she deserves it. She never wants anyone to look at her and think she got where she is because anyone handed her anything.
Intelligent - Magda has always enjoyed learning and as a result, she's incredibly smart. She reads books, stays up to date on current events, and exposes herself to new experiences so that she knows things. She's been around for a while, and she's spent much of her time on this earth, even after death, trying to learn.
Outgoing - Rarely ever does Magda meet a stranger, and even when she does, she's not shy about striking up a conversation and getting to know them. She likes to meet people and get to know them. She likes conversation, though she'll often act like she doesn't have the time or energy for that kind of thing.
Selfish - While she may not seem it, she is a very selfish person. She puts herself above others almost always. She can be generous when it costs her nothing but it's very unlikely that she'll put herself out for anyone else.
Untrusting - Magda doesn't trust many people and it takes a very long time for her to trust the ones that she does. She is skeptical of everyone, of their motives, what they want from her.
Confident - More than anything else in the world, Magda is sure of herself. She believes in herself more than anything or anyone else in the world. She believes in her abilities and her intelligence.

[attr="class","basicinfoappnotbold"]Magda was born in Russia a long, long time ago - before many of the cities had even been properly established - into a coven of witches who'd been there for as long as anyone could really remember. They kept to themselves, hidden away from the world in their quiet little corner. Magda grew up under strict parents who drilled her magic into her head from a very young age. She was an incredibly talented black mage - sucked up into a demon deal her family had all but made for her when she was born. Her early life was largely uneventful, she and her brother grew up learning magic and just about everything else within the confines of that coven.
From a very young age Magda had never really been forced into a gender role or norm, so she never really fell into one as most of her coven had. She prefers not to assign herself to either and rather prefers to exist outside of it. She does almost always present female and has for most of her life - through magical means, typically.
When she and her brother were old enough - both well into their hundreds - they left the only home they'd ever known. They were a little bit sheltered and eager to see the rest of the world after watching civilization seep into their corner. Bernard, her older brother, was fascinated by it and the technological advances that came with it. He was the one that wanted to leave. Magda was closest to her brother so she tagged along when he left - much to their coven's protest.
They traveled and saw so much in their time together and eventually lost contact with their family. It was always a new adventure, things were exciting and changing and shiny and new. And then they ended up in a place called Salem, Massachusetts at maybe the worst possible time to end up there. They got there in time to fall in with a coven not entirely unlike their own in Russia. They were there long enough for both of them to find people that made staying worth it. Magda fell in love with a man named Vincent. They courted for a while, they were inseparable after a very short time, and then eventually married. Magda would have done anything for him, anything to stay with him. Anything.
So they stayed. They stayed for a few years and things seemed fine - and then they weren't. Mutterings started and to this day, Magda will never forgive herself for not dragging her and her brother out of there then. Those mutterings turned into paranoia that ramped up into trials. Anyone who presented any abnormal behavior, anyone perceived as female that was turned in by a man, and anyone maybe the priest had it out for were rounded up and put on 'trials'. Most of them weren't actual witches, but some of them were.
One of them was Magda. As soon as people started sniffing around her, pointing fingers, muttering and accusing - she got spooked and panicked. Old as she was, she'd never really encountered anything like this before. She tried to fight it, but she couldn't really fight it how she wanted to. The priest was not alone in perpetuating this slaughter. Magda still isn't entirely sure what or who might have been in that man's pocket, but it was enough to undo most magic she tried to subtly throw against him.
She started to get hopeless and desparate. She and her brother were looking for anything that might be of use and that's when Magda decided to do something stupid and ill-advised because love and fear had clouded her judgment - the things she'd been taught. Magda found out about a ritual that would help her live beyond her means, no matter what happened. Bernard wasn't sure it was a good idea, but Magda convinced him it would be fine.
So they got to work building a phylactery, performing a ritual, setting things up in case of what felt inevitable happening. Vincent had no idea about it, no one in that coven outside of Magda and Bernard knew. Pressure came down on Magda as they were finishing up their work. Everything was in place - the moment she died, her soul would be trapped and then Bernard would help her find a body.
Magda was eventually put on trial, found guilty, and burned at the stake. It was violent and miserable and she is still haunted by the screams of her loved ones. She isn't sure what happened between her death and her waking up as something different. All she remembers is waking up in the aftermath of a riot. There were smoking fires, corpses, and rain. She'd woken up in the mud, alone and scared. So, she got up and went looking for Bernard or Vincent.
She found Vincent hiding out with some of their coven in the woods nearby. And that's when she learned what happened to Bernard. In her hurry to find anyone, she'd never really stopped to look in a mirror or really take any time to do more than learn to move in the body she was in. She'd laid in the mud for what felt like hours learning to move dead muscles. Little did she know, those dead muscles she was moving were her brother's. He'd died in those riots, that ritual and spell had completed, Bernard was wearing the pendant and died. So her essence had been transferred to him. To make it all so much worse, Vincent was horrified by what she'd done and wanted nothing to do with her.
Magda lost everything in the span of a day. She had nothing to live for in Salem anymore, so she left. For a while, she just hid in the woods, living as a hermit while she got more and more in tune with her powers. Eventually, she decided to do more with her life. She went to law school and opened her own practice.
The world would eventually see her settling in England and opening her own private practice where she brokers demon deals. She has no idea whatever happened to her ex-husband, her coven, or family. She's never bothered to look them up and has no real interest in doing so now.
[attr="class","appcatbig"]POWERS
[attr="class","appdarkminiheading"]SPECIES:
[attr="class","basicinfoappnotbold"]Spirit
[/ul]
[attr="class","basicinfoappnotbold"]» ABILITIES. » Necromancy --// A lich's powerful necromancy magic allows him or her to summon the undead, whether it be spirits or corpses, to do their bidding. They can also communicate with the undead and utilize them for divination purposes. However, in order to reanimate other corpses, they must be in range. The general distance is around 20 feet, though some more experienced may be able to reach farther, though the range is decreased the more they choose to raise.
» Possession --// As long as the artifact that contains their essence - their horcrux or phylactery - is intact, the Lich can transfer their intellect to another dead body once their own corpse has rotted to the point of uselessness.
» Immortality --// As long as their phylactery is intact, the Lich will live on.
» Umbrakinesis --// Liches can control, generate (within reason) and manipulate shadows at whim, allowing them to conceal themselves or others with ease.
» Levitation --// They have the ability to float and even fly short distances.
» Sensory Nullification --// Magda can numb the senses of her target. She can choose to nullify one sense or all senses at once. This is temporary and only for as long as she is focused on her target.
» WEAKNESSES. » Brittle Bones--// The state of their bodies does not allow them to be very physical creatures. Decomposing corpses are not very physically enduring.
» Mirrors --// Any reflective surface will show the Lich's true form, but framed or bordered mirrors are able to trap the Lich if he or she is without a corpse vessel.
» Limits--// Though Liches were often birthed by powerful magic and many were once talented witches, once making the transformation their old magic is barred from them. They can no longer cast or manipulate energy in any way that isn't conducive to the Lich's abilities.
» Horcrux / Phylactery--// Liches are bound to the item they have stored their soul in, and destroying this item is the only sure way to kill them. For this reason, Liches will often keep these items on themselves or well hidden, though it is possible to track the soul-energy these items give off.
» Flammable --// They can very easily catch fire, and for this reason many Liches fear flames.
» Holy Items--// Due to the wicked nature of their magic, Liches are weak and vulnerable to Holy artifacts, including Holy water or Holy grounds.
» Vessels--// In order to use its abilities, a Lich needs a host. They can only possess corpses, and while their magic may help to slow the decomposition process, these bodies will eventually deteriorate - especially if they have been using a lot of their power in succession - and the Lich will need to find a new host.
